Growing up in central NJ, I was lucky to have access to lots of live music in NYC, Philly, New Brunswick and at City Gardens – a punk club in Trenton, NJ. That’s where I saw Sinead O’Connor in 1988. And The Ramones. And All. And Violent Femmes. And so many other bands. Jon Stewart even bartended a few of the years that I was hanging out there although I was only 16 or 17 so mostly begging for free cups of water from the bar. When I moved to SF after college my love of live music continued with access to outdoor festivals like Outside Lands and dozens of concert venues including the Fillmore , Slims and the Warfield.
