Balancing business + user needs for over 30 years.
I started designing and building commercial web sites in the Bay Area using the vi editor back in 1994. Before there were rules and User Experience degrees, we used our graphic design backgrounds and enthusiasm for “new media” and the ability to reach people all over the world quickly.
Soon, research was part of the process and it became data-drive design. Mock ups, wireframes, flowcharts, competitive analysis, user testing, instinct, and business strategy all play a part in designing commercial web sites. Launching successful web products from Web 1.0 to Web 3.0 that millions of people use every day has been an honor.

Print + Digital Design
My degree from Syracuse is in Graphic Design + Communication. My college years started before Photoshop and Illustrator were available. We used Schaedler Rules, hand lettering and press type until my junior year. Honing those skills before everything happened on a computer was invaluable. After 15 years primarily focused on corporate jobs in UX design and management, my background in graphic design allowed me to easily transition to working for myself. I have a soft spot for women-run businesses but I’ve worked for many types of small businesses doing posters, flyers, social media posts, photo editing, brand identity and so much more.
