Four young dudes had an idea for an Internet calendar and event service. Within a year, they’d build a team, release a web product and get acquired by AOL (yup, again) for over $200 million. I was employee #18.
This job was fun. Smart people who loved what they did and the office vibe felt healthy and productive (but time for foosball and dancing to Soul Coughing too). Some of the nicest people I’ve ever worked with (Myra, Teri, Mike, Mark, Dave!). And what we were building made sense. It was a consumer product that would be both useful and innovative.

As production manager I led a small team of web developers and producers. After we launched the initial product and were acquired, I worked on co-branded products for the first time (Netscape, AOL, Compuserve). A job in digital photography would be my next adventure….
